Distributed Energy Resources (DER)

Distributed Energy Resources are generation or energy storage technologies connected to the local distribution system, rather than directly to the high-voltage bulk power system, including resources located behind an individual customer's meter (like rooftop solar or a home battery). DERs are a major driver of the shift away from a grid designed only for one-way power flow from large central plants to customers.
