Battery Energy Storage System (BESS)

A Battery Energy Storage System is a grid-connected installation of batteries used to store electricity and discharge it back to the grid when needed, helping balance supply and demand, smooth out the variability of solar and wind generation, and provide backup power. BESS installations are a specific example of both a Distributed Energy Resource and an inverter-based resource.
