Public-private partnership

A genuinely notable fact for anyone new to this field: the private sector owns and operates the large majority of U.S. critical infrastructure, not the government. Because of this, protecting critical infrastructure depends heavily on partnerships between government agencies (like CISA and the various Sector Risk Management Agencies) and the private companies that actually own and run the assets, rather than on direct government control.
