Patch

A patch is a piece of code released to fix an identified problem, security flaw, or bug in existing software, sometimes also called a "fix" or "hot fix." Patch management is the systematic process of identifying, testing, deploying, and verifying these updates across an organization’s systems, which is notably harder in OT environments than in IT.
