Energy security

Energy security refers to a nation's, region's, or organization's ability to reliably access the energy it needs at prices it can afford, without disruption from supply shocks, geopolitical instability, or infrastructure failure. The U.S. Department of Energy treats it as closely linked to national security and to reliability and resilience more broadly.
