Energy mix / generation mix

The energy mix (or generation mix, when specifically about electricity) describes the proportion of different sources, such as natural gas, coal, nuclear, wind, and solar, that make up a country’s, region’s, or utility’s total energy supply or electricity generation. A generation mix that is heavily weighted toward a single source is generally considered less resilient than a diversified one.
