DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service)

A denial-of-service attack aims to prevent authorized users from accessing a system or delay time-critical operations, typically by overwhelming it with traffic or requests. A distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack does this from many sources at once, often a botnet of compromised computers coordinated to flood a target simultaneously and amplify the impact.
