CVE (Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures)

A CVE is a unique identifier assigned to a specific, publicly known software or hardware vulnerability, maintained by the CVE Program so that different security tools, vendors, and reports can all refer to the same flaw consistently (for example, "CVE-2024-12345") instead of describing it differently each time.
